Bourne Vale Stables was deeply honoured to receive a commemorative plaque from HRH The Princess Royal in recognition of our 25 years as a Pony Club Centre. The presentation took place at Wrea Green Equitation Centre near Preston, one of the original Pony Club Centres, as part of a celebration marking the 25th anniversary of the Pony Club Centre Membership Scheme.

As one of just three centres in Area 7 to achieve this milestone, it was a proud moment for our team and community, celebrating a quarter-century of dedication to nurturing young riders and horse enthusiasts.

25 Years of Pony Club at Bourne Vale Stables

Since becoming a Pony Club Centre in 1999, Bourne Vale Stables has provided over 1,250 members with opportunities to engage in Pony Club activities. From learning the essentials of horse care to participating in riding lessons and competitions, our members have gained invaluable skills and cherished memories along the way.

The Pony Club Centre Membership Scheme, launched 25 years ago, is designed to make Pony Club activities accessible to young people who don’t own their own pony. Through this initiative, we’ve helped children and young people from all walks of life discover the joys of riding, horse care, and the camaraderie that comes with being part of the Pony Club community.

A Visit from HRH The Princess Royal

As part of the anniversary celebrations, HRH The Princess Royal, Patron of The Pony Club, presented commemorative plaques to Centre proprietors across the country. During her visit, Her Royal Highness interacted with Pony Club members, observed activities such as grooming and horse care, and celebrated the scheme’s core values of fun, friendship, horsemanship, and sport.

It was an incredible privilege for Bourne Vale Stables to receive this recognition and to celebrate alongside other centres who have contributed so much to the success of the scheme.

Looking Ahead

Reflecting on this milestone, we are proud of what has been accomplished and excited about the future. For 25 years, Bourne Vale Stables has played a part in helping young people fulfil their dreams of working with horses, learning new skills, and building friendships.

Here’s to the next 25 years of inspiring new generations of Pony Club members and continuing to share our passion for equestrianism with our local community and beyond!
